THIS is rite of passage

.An evolving cast of wanderers with the insatiable urge to learn and grow through challenging and unconventional circumstances. We all met through the mutual love of sailing and take part in the collective travel experience known as Rite of Passage.

Rite of passage is the documentation of a lifestyle experiment. These videos record the creative process involved in living a new age nomadic lifestyle. We travel by land and sea with a rotating crew of adventurers from all walks of life, learning about ourselves and each other as we collaborate to create home, and earn a living wherever we go.

As far as we're concerned, there is one way in and one way out of this life. Everything in-between is a beautiful, messy, creative process. These videos are the frame to our picture. They document our adventures as we meet new people, see new places, and navigate the challenges and rewards of this alternative lifestyle. We hope they inspire those of you who have chosen to follow along and help connect our viewers to make the world feel a little more like home.

You've made it this far into our introduction, which means you have graciously given your precious time to learn a little more about our creative process. Thank You from the depths of our souls, because at the end of the day, a picture is nothing without the observer.

We are a new sailing channel. We document our adventures because we have the desire to challenge societies definition of home. We want to test societies boundaries and our own. We want to create an adventure collective that creates opportunity for others to step outside of their normal and into a lifestyle that is bound to nourish growth and happiness. We decided to look to Patreon for support, though not from a desire to “make it”. Both Brenton and I have gone through life changing experiences made possible through sailing. We want to share this opportunity with others. Unfortunately, sailing can get expensive. At the end of our last sailing season, we realized simply splitting cost of travel was not enough to keep us going. We were at the bitter end of our savings and needed to go back to work. This summer we are traveling to Montana to hopefully earn enough money to save, around $10,000 for not cruising season.

Our goal for next season is to be able to sustain ourselves and our documentation project off of the income we make from our videos and by splitting costs of living with those who wish to travel with us. Currently, we commit endless hours to planning, social media marketing, branding, and general maintenance on our beloved boat. As many of you know, getting a project to take off is hard work. Gaining traction and recognition requires commitment, perseverance, focus, and determination from the project founders.

Most importantly, creating a project requires a community. Without our supporters, our work would be for nothing.

If you believe in our dreams, enjoy watching our adventure videos, and you’d like to see us grow, head over to our Patreon to find out what you can do to show your support.

Thank you for joining us!

Fair winds and following seas!
